Apple Crisp in a Mug/Bowl

Okay, it's confession time: I have a major sweet tooth. I could eat dessert for every meal for the rest of my life. I hope to be buried with cookies and cakes and ice cream just in case the afterlife doesn't have edible heaven available. I'm salivating over here just thinking about sweets.
Anyway, I've been so busy this week with midterms that I haven't gotten around to making supper for my family, but I did want to upload a recipe, so here it is! This Apple Crisp in a Mug from Life at Cloverhill's website caught my eye because it was advertised as a 3-minute recipe: 2 minutes to prep and 1 minute to cook. The perfect recipe to quickly whip up between writing essays and studying for exams! Or is it? Let's find out!
Ingredients:
Servings: 1
1 small apple, peeled and cut into thin slices
(I used a medium-sized golden delicious apple.)
2 tbsp quick oats
(I only had old fashioned oats, so that's what I used.)
2 tbsp flour
1 tbsp brown sugar (or 1 packet of stevia)
1 tbsp butter
¼ tsp cinnamon
pinch of salt
Instructions:

Peel the apple and cut it into thin slices. I find that thinner slices cook evenly in the microwave. Place slices in a microwaveable mug or small bowl. Microwave for 60 seconds.
Meanwhile, combined the remaining ingredients and crumble together with a fork.
Stir the cooked apples and then sprinkle the topping on top. Microwave for 30 seconds. Stir and then microwave for an additional 30 seconds.
Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes and then top with a of ice cream or a dollop of whip cream.
(I also added a dash of cinnamon sugar when it came out of the microwave and on the vanilla ice cream because, like I said before, I love sweets.)
My Conclusions:
1. This was delicious! The apples were warm and mushy (such a weird, unappetizing way to describe something tasty), the ice cream was nice and cold against the piping hot apple crisp (so I only burned my tongue like twice), and the crisp was sweet and flavorful! However...
2. ...this recipe takes much longer than 3 minutes to prep and cook. It took me at least 3 minutes just to peel and slice the apple, so if and when you make this (which you totally should), be prepared to put aside about 10 minutes to make this and then more time to enjoy it!
3. Usually I put in a few notes about how to make a recipe healthier, but in this case, I think you have to just go for it. Eat it as is with all the sugar, flour, butter, and ice cream. It's absolutely delicious and only makes one serving, satiating you without any fear that you'll pig out on more of it around midnight.
All right, that's it from me for this week, but I'll be back soon with a supper recipe (if I make it through the rest of my midterms)!
Sincerely,
SUPPERGIRL
